From the Governor’s Desk: 01/12/2019

To our beloved members and cousins,

2019 is shaping up to be an interesting year.

Our committees are working diligently on their assigned duties. The nominating committee (led by Joan Miller) is in full swing making phone calls and helping to create a slate for our annual meeting. Please contact her if you are interested in contributing, we have open positions as part of the natural turnover on groups. Since everyone is a volunteer, it is amazing how much work is accomplished!

Our website is transitioning the first quarter of the new year. It will offer new features for current and potential members.

Our financial committee is finalizing budgets and we are reviewing our positions in our Vanguard fund for best yield. These funds have been a partial source of our revenue in the past, helping keep dues down. Your notice should be arriving soon, prompt payment is always appreciated!

We are looking forward to our annual meeting April 27that the Desmond Hotel in Malvern, PA with Caleb Johnson as our speaker.  Caleb promises to share new discoveries that he has developed with Sue Allen in our meeting.

Our 400 year anniversary in 2020 looms. Feel free to offer ideas for celebration and be prepared to participate in the events.

The General Society is active with many events and causes. A Rose Bowl float is planned for January 1st2020 and you can participate in a once in a lifetime event. The renovation of the “Meeting House” now includes ownership rights.

May your winter be healthy and the start of a great 2019!

Thanks for your support!

Reed Kneale, Sr - Acting Governor

Best of all, Joomla is an open source solution that is freely available to everyone.

With millions of websites running on Joomla, the software is used by individuals, small & medium-sized businesses, and large organizations worldwide to easily create & build a variety of websites & web-enabled applications.

Site and Administrator

Your site actually has two separate sites. The site (also called the front end) is what visitors to your site will see. The administrator (also called the back end) is only used by people managing your site. You can access the administrator by clicking the "Site Administrator" link on the "This Site" menu or by adding /administrator to the end of you domain name.

Log in to the administrator using the username and password created during the installation of Joomla.

Preset Styles

The Style Settings panel in the Gantry based theme administration interface provides several options for configuring the main built in stylistic aspects of the template.

Style

Gantry also provides the ability for you to create your own custom presets based on any parameter in the theme administrator. You should determine which parameters you wish to configure to be a part of the presets.

Assigning a Style

With Gantry, the ability to assign a certain style to an individual page has never been easier and/or more efficient. Just follow these simple steps:

  • Go to Extensions → Template Manager → rt_hexeris → Assignments → *Menu Item*
  • Select your preset from Show Presets, configure and save.

After setting your defaults to the desired values, select the Menu Items button and choose the menu item you wish to modify the parameters for. You will then see a series of checkboxes on the left of all the supported parameters.

Select the checkbox next to the parameter you wish to modify, it will then become active, and you can modify as you wish. Clicking “Save” in the toolbar will then save this configuration.
